When Dr. Mario Samaniego began developing a plan to build a fitness center in Alamogordo, his goal was to provide a level of quality and service that most residents were not accustomed to, but deserving of. The people of Alamogordo like nice things, and work hard at their jobs; Dr. Samaniego felt that they should have a facility as
nice as any big city.
As the project began to unfold, the size of the planned building grew from a 12,000 sq. foot facility into the future 22,000 sq. foot facility, which is scheduled to be completed in the spring of 2007.
The permanent location on Indian Wells and Juniper is expected to have a day spa for facials, massages and the first ever Starbucks in Alamogordo. The new location will be a split-level facility complete with locker rooms, including hot tubs and saunas, childcare, juice bar, and rooms for yoga, aerobics, and cycling. The new weight room alone will be larger than the entire current 5000 sq. foot facility. Free weights, cardiovascular equipment, and selectorized machines will be almost tripled in number at the new club.
